English

English is taught daily. Our aim is to promote high standards of language and literacy by equipping pupils with a strong command of the spoken and written word. Pupils develop a love of literature through widespread reading for enjoyment. Years 1-6 all follow ‘The English Planning Kit’ which outlines the objectives taught in each term for Spoken Language, Handwriting and Presentation, Spelling, Reading and Writing (Planning, Composing and Evaluating, Grammar, Punctuation and Vocabulary).
